Free HVAC calculators for US homeowners

Plan replacement costs and energy decisions without submitting your name, phone number, or ZIP code. Published calculators use US dollars and show their assumptions.

How to use the results

Treat the number as a planning range.

A national model cannot inspect duct leakage, electrical capacity, refrigerant lines, combustion venting, permits, or equipment access. Use the estimate to spot large quote differences and ask what each contractor included.

Do not select equipment capacity from floor area alone. ENERGY STAR recommends a Manual J load calculation based on the actual home, followed by proper equipment selection and duct design.
